The Books

Book 1: Kai's Brain Notices Everything
Kai’s mornings are hard. The tag in his shirt stings. The bus leaves before he’s ready. In class, the noise is everywhere at once and he can’t filter any of it out. When a doctor named Dr Yuen explains that his brain is wired differently, Kai starts to understand that he isn’t broken. He’s just supercharged in ways nobody ever told him about.
Covers: sensory sensitivity, sensory overload, task initiation, time as an abstract concept, emotional dysregulation, and deep focus on loved topics.

Book 2: Kai's Brain Moves Fast
Kai catches a classmate before she falls, reacting so fast that no one has time to realise what's happening. Days later, his hand shoots out and grabs a packet of markers before the teacher has finished speaking. Same brain. Two very different moments. This book explores why Kai acts before he thinks, and how a simple external cue from a trusted adult can give his brain just enough time to catch up.
Covers: impulsivity, inhibitory control and the strength of being quick to help.
